What is the difference between the ClamCase Pro and ClamCase Original?

The ClamCase Pro has an island style keyboard with aluminum enclosure, an upgraded battery, additional shortcut keys and is thinner and lighter than the original.

The ClamCase Pro for iPad Air and iPad mini also have automatic Bluetooth pairing and an auto-off feature that shuts the keyboard off when flipped into into tablet mode to avoid unintentional keystrokes.

What tablets are compatible with ClamCase?

Currently, ClamCase is only compatible with the Apple iPad.

What comes in the box with my ClamCase?

When you receive your ClamCase you will also receive a USB charging cable and a ClamCase Quick Start Guide.

How do I reset my ClamCase.com account password?

You can reset your password by clicking 'Account' in the top right and then clicking 'Forgot Your Password'. We'll then email you your temporary password.

Is ClamCase compatible with a mouse or trackpad?

At this time, neither Apple iPad or ClamCase support the use of an external USB or Bluetooth mouse or trackpad.

Can I use headphones with my ClamCase?

Yes, but ClamCase is designed to fit the Apple EarPods only.

Does ClamCase have a memory card expansion slot?

No, ClamCase does not have a memory card expansion slot.

Does ClamCase support an external USB device?

No, ClamCase does not support external USB devices.

Can I toggle between keyboard languages directly on my Clamcase?

Yes, by pressing and holding the Control Key and using the Spacebar key to select the desired language. For devices running IOS 9.0 and up.

What materials is ClamCase made of?

ClamCase Pro is made of the highest quality, ultra-durable Polycarbonate ABS plastic ensuring lasting protection. The keyboard is surrounded by a precision-tooled, bead blasted aluminum enclosure. The hinge and base underside features soft touch material.

What temperature should my ClamCase be stored and used in?

Your ClamCase should be stored and used within the temperatures 32-95° F (0-35°C).

Using Your ClamCase

How do I turn on my ClamCase?

To turn on your ClamCase, toggle the on/off switch to the on position. This is located on the left side of the ClamCase. If your iPad has fallen asleep, simply press any key to wake it.

How do I pair my iPad and ClamCase keyboard?

We have instructions for how to pair your iPad and ClamCase keyboard on our Support page.

How do I insert/remove my iPad?

Your iPad is secured into the ClamCase by two long thin clips located at thetop and bottom of the cover. To insert your iPad, place your iPad inside the bottom clip of the ClamCase. Next, press your iPad into thetop clip of the ClamCase and it will snap in securely. To remove, snap back thetop clip of the ClamCase and release your iPad.

How do I reset my ClamCase?

1. Go to iPad Settings > Bluetooth Settings

2. To the right of ‘ClamCase Pro Keyboard’, there should be a blue ‘i’ icon. Please tap the icon and then tap ‘Forget This Device’. Then press ‘OK’ once prompted

3. Turn ClamCase off

4. Turn iPad completely off

5. Wait 60 seconds and turn iPad back on and Bluetooth on

6. Power on ClamCase

7. ClamCase should then show up under ‘Other Devices’ under Bluetooth setting

8. If you do not see ‘ClamCase Pro Keyboard’ under bluetooth devices hold the Bluetooth key located on keyboard for 5-10 seconds to engage Bluetooth pairing on ClamCase

9. Once ‘ClamCase Pro Keyboard’ appears under bluetooth devices, tap the device to reconnect your ClamCase Pro

How do I clean my ClamCase?

We recommend using a dampened, soft cloth. No solutions or chemicals should be used to clean your ClamCase.

How do I wake up my ClamCase?

Your ClamCase keyboard will automatically enter power save mode if it has been idle for over 10 minutes. To wake it up, simply press any key on the keyboard. The power/pair LED will flash to let you know your keyboard is awake and ready for use.

Will the ClamCase keyboard interfere when using my iPad in the touchscreen position?

No, when your ClamCase is flipped into touchscreen position and placed on a flat surface, the 3M rubber feet protect both your ClamCase and Keyboard from any interference.

Will the ClamCase keyboard interfere with using my iPad in the tablet position?

The ClamCase Pro for iPad Air and iPad mini keyboard automatically turns off when in tablet mode to avoid unintentional keystrokes.

The ClamCase Pro for iPad 2/3/4 keyboard does not automatically turn off and can interfere when holding your it in tablet position. To avoid this, turn off your ClamCase by toggling the on/off switch to the 'off' position.

The ClamCase Original keyboard does not automatically turn off and can interfere when holding your it in tablet position. To avoid this, turn off your ClamCase by holding the power key down for three seconds and the power/pair LED flashes.

Can I use a screen protector with my ClamCase?

Yes, ClamCase does not interfere with the iPad’s screen.

Does ClamCase interfere with the iPad’s front/back cameras?

No, ClamCase does not block the front or rear cameras of the iPad.

Charging & Battery Life

How do I check the battery life?

To check your ClamCase's battery life just press the battery key and the LED will flash to indicate battery life.

What is my ClamCase’s battery life?

ClamCase Pro will hold a charge for up to 100 hours of uninterrupted use, 6 months standby time and takes approximately 120 minutes to fully charge.

ClamCase Original will hold a charge for up to 90 hours of uninterrupted use, 100 days of standby time and takes approximately 90 minutes to fully charge.

Can I charge my iPad while it is inside my ClamCase?

Yes. To charge your iPad while it’s in your ClamCase, plug in and charge your iPad just as you would if were not in the ClamCase. ClamCase is designed to allow easy access of the 30-pin and lightning connectors respectively.

How do I charge my ClamCase?

Does ClamCase charge my iPad?

What type of battery is my ClamCase equipped with?

ClamCase is equipped with a built-in rechargeable Lithium-ion Polymer (Li-Po) battery. The battery is not removable.

How can I purchase a new USB charging cable?

A new charging cable can be purchased at any local (or online) electronic store.

The ClamCase Pro USB cable has a micro-usb on one end and a standard usb on the other.

The ClamCase Original USB cable has a mini-usb on one end and a standard usb on the other.

How do I obtain a copy of my receipt?

A copy of your receipt will be generated and emailed to you upon purchase. If the email has been deleted or is missing you can print another copy by going to ClamCase.com and logging into your account.

Shipping

Does ClamCase ship internationally?

Although ClamCase.com only ships to the continental United States, our products are available to ship to Canada via Amazon.ca and parts of Europe via Amazon.co.uk.

Can I ship to an address different from my billing address?

Yes, you can ship to an address other than your billing address, provided it is within our approved shipping zones. During the checkout process, you can select to ship to your billing address or to a different address.

Can I ship to a P.O. box?

Yes, but all orders with shipping to a P.O. box will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail.

How do I track my order?

You will be able to track your ClamCase order once it has been shipped. An email with your tracking number will be generated and sent to you via email.

Warranty & Returns

What is the ClamCase warranty?

ClamCase® warrants our products against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 1 year from the date of delivery. Under the 1 year warranty, your item may be replaced depending on the extent of defects. Your warranty only applies to the specific device model that was purchased and is non transferable.

We will not accept returns on a personalized ClamCase®. ClamCase® is NOT responsible for damage to your ClamCase® caused by customer accident or error.

ClamCase® takes absolutely no responsibility for any damage or malfunction in any implied or expressed warranty or guarantee for your separately purchased Apple® iPad.

What is ClamCase’s return policy?

All items may be returned up to 30 days from the date of delivery.

Consumer Protection

For consumers who have the benefit of consumer protection laws or regulations in their country of purchase or, if different, their country of residence, that cannot be disclaimed as set forth above (“consumer laws”), the benefits conferred by this warranty are in addition to all rights and remedies conveyed by such consumer laws. To the extent that liability under such consumer laws may be limited, ClamCase’s liability is limited, at its sole option, to replace the product.

Can I make a warranty claim without a receipt?

For a warranty claim, we will need you to provide the proof of purchase if your ClamCase was not purchased from our site, or the ClamCase.com order number that was included in the order confirmation email sent upon purchase.

How do I order replacement parts for my ClamCase?

To order a replacement USB charging cable, please call customer support at 1-888-882-4440. Unfortunately at this time we do not send out replacement keys for your ClamCase Keyboard.

How do I return/replace my ClamCase?

If you need to return or replace your unit, you can fill out the Warranty/Return form here.

How long will it take to receive a refund?

Your refund will be processed into your account 3-5 days from the date that we receive your unit.

How do I receive a refund if I purchased from an authorized reseller?

You must adhere to the terms and conditions of the authorized reseller. All items purchased through the reseller must be returned to the reseller.
